- Pain Laser Center, LLC Rule #1
DON’T CHASE PAIN!
The underlying problem is never just where the pain is located! In other words…look beyond symptoms to help the body heal.
Injuries can have underlying factors and are sometimes not as simple as they might appear to be on the surface. Through our program you will develop what we call ‘Tissue Tolerance.’ Your body breaks down when it’s overstressed, under-recovered or injured, creating small microtears in connective tissue. These microtears (adhesions) can lead to a loss of tissue elasticity (flexibility), joint mobility (movement) and muscle stability (core).
Once we harmonize stability and mobility –key missing components in most therapy programs– we have the foundation for elasticity. These efficient movement patterns allow you to move and function better in life with less energy expenditure and zero pain. Elasticity, along with mobility and stability, decreases the soft tissue load on your injury allowing for faster recovery.
If your not building tissue tolerance–not taking care of your muscular and connective tissue–then you’re going to be limited on your body’s ability to perform and protect itself from future injury. You might do some stretching on your own or with previous therapy, but I am guessing little improvement was noticed.
Your relationship with your soft tissue system is no different than a relationship with your significant other. If you neglect it, you’re going to hear about it! Muscles let you know through spasm or injury. Give your soft tissue a little TLC and you will be rewarded with a smoother more productive recovery.
One of the ‘KEY SECRETS’ to our successful program is restoring mobility and stability to certain areas of the body. We don’t just attack the body with stretches and exercises all over, hoping something works. We rarely do therapy just to the symptomatic and painful area. Why? By the time most people see us for help they have already seen tons of therapist and doctors who have done just that!
Most traditional therapies are focusing on simply chasing pain. That’s insanity. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. The last thing we are going to do is what everyone else has. It obviously did not work, otherwise you would not be in our office. So we concentrate on four primary areas most neglected, and the rest of the body follows.
- What are those areas?
Thoracic and Ribcage Mobility
Pillar Strength (Core)
Movement Rehab and High Power Deep Tissue laser therapy in these areas can be the most powerful tools used to decrease injury and improve performance. It will improve balance and proprioception, the system of pressure sensors in the joints, muscles, and tendons from which your body gathers information to maintain balance. It prepares your body for movements by fine-tuning it’s nerves and feedback mechanisms.
What does this mean for you?
Your injury has less chance for returning! And that’s a good thing. Right?
Through this process, you’ll also create symmetry between your right and left sides, your front and back, and upper and lower portions of your body. This is one of the PRIMARY keys to staying healthy, decreasing the potential for re-injury, and moving with greater efficiency. For example, if you visit us with right sided shoulder pain…we do therapy on both sides of the body. This makes all the difference in your final results.
You’ll lengthen and strengthen muscles with perfect posture and decrease injury potential by improving tissue quality. You’ll see more flexibility, mobility, stability, balance, and symmetry gains by doing 5-10 minutes of Movement Rehab than you’ve seen over the years with your current stretching program.
Are you getting this with your therapy?
YOU SHOULD BE!
