YES! There is a secret to success. By secret I mean that very few people know what it is because it seems so simple. However, it makes ALL the difference in everything you do. You can learn all the tricks, strategies, and programs to try and become successful in whatever it is you desire. There are no shortages of quick fix programs promising you everything from financial to personal success. ‘Follow these steps to get rich!’ That is the flavor of the month and the bookstore is loaded with options to choose from in that regard.
However, I am going to share with you two guiding principles that are the CORE foundation of everything you will attempt to do in life. Take them to heart and embrace them with genuine integrity and you will succeed. Ignore them, or use them with the wrong intent and your success will be fleeting. I guarantee these can and will change your life; IF you are open to truly understanding the message. It is the way I live my life and the ‘WHY’ of everything I do. I take this moment to share them with you. May they do for you what they have done for me.
When you offer a deeper connection it’s harder for someone else to come along and copy your success!
The genuine connection with another human being is the secret. Caring for another person from the heart. It’s all about people. It’s not about the business of how or what you do. It’s WHY you do what you do and how that transcends to another person. The ‘how’ and ‘what’ are methods. The ‘why’ is your principle and your paradigm. The WHY is what truly resonates with others.

This secret expands on the first one. Maya had it right. What you say and do is not nearly as important as the intention of why you do it. Remember the person in front of you. Nothing else matters. Live in the moment with that person and give them the respect and value of truly listening. Watch how it makes them feel. Try smiling sometime and just listening. Stop talking and thinking about what you want to say. It’s not about you! A smile is the easiest way to change a person’s day for the better. Try it and see for yourself.
So there you have it. Not rocket science, but might as well be because few people understand it to this day. Yes, it is important to get an education and become skilled in your chosen craft. However, don’t lose sight of the real truth of what matters most in your endeavor. PEOPLE!
