Dr. Kiesel received his B.S. in Physical Education and Sports Medicine in 1990 from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He then earned his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1994 and in 2007 earned his PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Kentucky.

He is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He conducts research related to functional movement testing and injury prediction in athletes and low back pain. He has presented his work nationally and internationally and has been a faculty member at the University of Evansville since 2000.

He is the SFMA Selective Functional Movement Assessment Guru and created the program with Gray Cook, PT.
