Nature doesn’t have an agenda, she just is. She doesn’t care what you look like, where you live, how much money you make, what school you went to, how smart you think you are or the resources you quote in a white paper. She’s awe inspiring and a bitch at the same time.
Nature never does anything without a reason and she doesn’t care if it makes sense to us or not. When you want to learn about movement and motion check her out. You just might learn something.
Since the moment you were conceived Mother Nature started doing her thing. 9 months to cook ya and then months and months of learning how to move on the ground before you could learn how to walk on two feet.
Sadly we forget simple shit when we get inside our heads thinking we are smarter than Nature. Science does it’s best to explain it, but sadly sucks at it. Reason doesn’t always give ya answers in Nature. Sometimes she’s just ruthless. That’s her right.
Here are three things you can see when you really take the time to get out of your own head and watch.
Yes, it’s advantageous to be smart and it will get ya far. However, one slip up and the strong will eat you alive. It’s the alpha male 101. Perceived strength can work for awhile until something challenges it. The more true strength you have the better off you are.
Combining strength and smarts. Now that’s a powerful combo. Be the lion not the sheep. Train for adaptable strength. Being strong in one thing usually doesn’t get ya very far. True strength is being able to control your own body mass in all situations. Having a strong bench press don’t mean shit if you can’t get off the ground.
Do This: Push, pull, press, carry, squat and lunge heavy shit.
Linear Movement Is A Unicorn
Movement is based in circles, spirals and rotations. Linear motion (also called rectilinear motion) is a motion along a straight line. According to Newton’s First Law of Motion an object not affected by any force will continue indefinitely in a straight line.
Name one thing in Nature not affected by an outside force. You don’t see animals moving on machines. That only exists inside manmade gyms with zillion dollar machines created by engineers. Want to get you ass kicked with movement? Train outside and move your body like a human.
Do This: Train on variable surfaces outside carrying and lifting a heavy asymmetrical load. You will know what motion feels like.
Nothing Sits Still For Long And Survives
Movement is life. Lack of movement is death. You can fake being dead to actually keep from being dead, but you eventually gotta move. Humans are designed to move. I mean hell, we stand on two feet for locomotion. Humans today sit for hours and hours like slugs. They no longer need to travel distances to find resources and food. Just swipe your finger and get useless stuff. No need to exert effort. God forbid ya move for something.
Having a big prefrontal cortex for smarts doesn’t make us smarter than Mother Nature. She knows if ya don’t move you die. In nature when ya do stupid things death is quick. In the manmade jungle, doing stupid things is a slow death. Lifestyle diseases are killing us off and it’s gonna get worse. Think about how we eat and live. Frightening. You cannot get well in the same environment you became ill within.
Do This: Move more of yourself more often. You will live longer and have more energy.

We are designed to move. So move more of yourself more often.
Nature is a bitch and she takes no prisoners. She gave you the tools to move, you just forgot how. Revisit the floor where you learned to move.
Move in circles, spirals and rotations.
